The letters of Stanley Kubrick. The Telegraph has excerpts from letters that give an new view of the famous director's personality.
Tad Michel, Manager of the hotel seen in The Shining: "It is very probable that once the movie is released and known locally we might have serious difficulties in renting out room 217 as some of our guests could be afraid of being chased by the blooded body of the bath tub lady…"

They Always Buy the Ten Cent Wine
He offered sample glasses of two red wines - one costing five cents per bottle and the other ten cents. The buyer tasted both and pronounced, “I’ll take the ten-cent one.” The wine in the two glasses was exactly the same.
I'm almost ready to admit in public that I can't taste the value of $400 bottle of Opus One compared to some other excellent Napa cabs that aren't even a tenth the price.
